Retired U.S. Coast Guard Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Gilbert Benoit awarded a payment-free vehicle
Richardson, Texas– As part of its ongoing commitment to make positive contributions to the communities it serves, Wells Fargo, in collaboration with Courtesy Nissan and Military Warriors Support Foundation, presented a payment-free vehicle to retired U.S. Coast Guard Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Gilbert Benoit on Monday, November 30.
Wells Fargo and Courtesy Nissan sponsored the donation of a new 2020 Nissan NV200 2WD for Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes program, which awards payment-free vehicles and provides one-year of family and financial mentorship to combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families to help ease the transition from the military to civilian life.
“Military Warriors Support Foundation would like to thank Wells Fargo and Courtesy Nissan for their collaboration on awarding retired U.S. Coast Guard Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Gilbert Benoit with a new payment-free 2020 Nissan van,” said Andrea Dellinger, U.S. Air Force veteran and Senior Vice President for Military Warriors Support Foundation. “We are thrilled to provide combat wounded veterans and Gold Star spouses with reliable vehicles, along with one-year financial mentoring through our Transportation4Heroes program. Most importantly, we thank Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Benoit for his service and sacrifices for our nation.”
Gilbert Benoit grew up in Louisiana and joined the Coast Guard in 1965. By 1968, he was deployed to Vietnam and served as an Officer of the Deck on the Point Banks. Today, he lives in Plano, Texas with his family and is happily retired.
