Our Skills4Life program partners with Valero Texas Open to host Heroes in golf competition.
We are honored to continue our amazing partnership with the Valero Texas Open. On Saturday, April 2nd, Valero Texas Open hosted a Stronghold Pro-Am. Fourteen combat-wounded heroes from our Skills4Life Program were paired with a professional golfer. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our Heroes is provided through our Skills4Life program, donations, and partnerships. Our Heroes had the opportunity to play with some major names and professionals in the industry while competing with one another. It is an experience they will never forget. Our Skills4Life program continues to grow its golfing events and looks forward to hosting more local golfing events in the San Antonio area in the future. A Night to Honor Our Heroes
The Valero Texas Open’s Night to Honor Our Heroes was a night to remember. On Friday April 1st all active and retired military and our combat-wounded warriors along with many corporate supporters came together to celebrate “Military City USA” at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, TX. Guests enjoyed dinner and were able to admire a unique collection of military artifacts and listen to guest speakers Lee Trevino, Ben Crenshaw, and Tom Watson.
Callaway Club Fit Valero Texas Open
Two Purple Heart recipients got the chance of a lifetime thanks to the Valero Texas Open and Birdies for the Brave and Callaway. Army veteran Alfonso Porter and Air Force veteran Jason Larzelere were able to get a tour of the Callaway truck and see the inner workings of building clubs for the PGA TOUR pro players. After, they were taken to the range where they got to hit and try out several clubs and were custom fit for a brand-new set of Callaway Golf Clubs by some of Callaway’s Master Fitters. Silverhorn Golf Event
Prior to attending the Valero Texas Open and the Stronghold Pro Am 30 heroes and many sponsors played 2 rounds of golf at the Silverhorn Golf Club. This was an enjoyable day for 14 of participants who got to use this time as some warmup rounds as they were participating in the Stronghold Pro-Am on Saturday at the Valero Texas Open.
