San Antonio Army Veteran was presented with a payment-free vehicle from Military Warriors Support Foundation, Wells Fargo, and Cavender Auto Group
2023 GMC Acadia presented during half-time at Friday’s Northside Independent School District’s “America’s Heroes Week” high school football game at Farris Stadium
Wells Fargo, in collaboration with Cavender Auto Group, sponsored the donation of a payment-free 2023 GMC Acadia through Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes (T4H) program. Vehicle recipient, Retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Brett S. Rother from San Antonio received many awards during his 14 years of service, including a Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
Retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Brett Rother was born in Papillio, Nebraska and grew up in Socorro, New Mexico. He later moved to Texas and joined the U.S. Army in August 2002. He served in Schweinfurt, Germany as an Infantryman. He went to Sniper school at Ft. Benning, Georgia and deployed to Iraq as a Scout Platoon Sniper. After training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina he became a Special Forces Medical Sergeant and a Health Care Specialist (Combat Medic). In 2013 while deployed to Afghanistan, Rother was wounded in action while supporting combat operations and is the recipient of the Purple Heart for his injuries. He also received the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Afghanistan Campaign Media with three Campaign Star and more. In 2016, after 14 years of service, he retired from the United States Army. He currently resides in San Antonio, Texas with his family.

The application has a rigorous vetting process to ensure that the veteran chosen to receive a vehicle is the best recipient to participate in the program. MWSF works with the veteran to ensure that the gift of a payment-free vehicle assists them in their successful transition out of the military and into their new civilian life.
